License Journey Now Supports LPCC Hour Tracking for California APCCs
Associate Professional Clinical Counselors get the same purpose-built tracking, BBS rule validation, and supervision ratio enforcement already available for ASWs and AMFTs.
License Journey has expanded its clinical hour tracking platform to fully support California Associate Professional Clinical Counselors (APCCs) working toward their LPCC license. APCCs now get dedicated hour categories, automatic BBS rule validation, and the same real-time supervision ratio checks that LCSW and LMFT pre-licensees rely on.
Why LPCC Tracking Is Different
The LPCC path shares the same 3,000-hour total with the LCSW and LMFT, but the breakdown is unique. APCCs need at least 1,750 hours of direct clinical counseling, with up to 1,250 hours allowed in nonclinical practice activities. The path also has its own 90-day post-degree rule, its own six-year experience clock, and its own restrictions on private practice work under subsequent registrations.
Tracking those categories in a spreadsheet is error-prone — a single miscategorized hour can mean falling short of the 1,750-hour minimum when it's time to submit your Application for Licensure.

- 10-hour supervision ratio enforcement — alerts when direct clinical counseling exceeds 10 hours in a week per setting, requiring 2 units of supervision instead of 1
- Six-year experience clock — visibility into how your hours line up against the six-year window preceding your Application for Licensure
- All BBS rules enforced — the same automatic validation for the 40-hour weekly cap, supervision presence, and 6-hour weekly supervision maximum
